Our Town Reno in the News

One of my current multimedia web documentary projects on exploring issues of homelessness and gentrification as Reno rebrands "Our Town Reno" was recently featured as part of a discussion on these topics with Reno's NPR affiliate KUNR.

A 40 plus minute conversation was trimmed to about 6 minutes, but it still made clear how important it is for reporting and discussions on these crucial topics to take place. Shouldn't we think about our most vulnerable, and not shove them aside, both from local coverage and downtown blocks? As cities everywhere become more expensive, and downtowns revitalize, shouldn't we be wary of the privatization of previously public spaces, as well as making more and more spaces feel like playgrounds for the more affluent?
