Struggle and Hope Mini-Documentary: Saving A Rosenwald
As part of the Struggle and Hope documentary/web project about Oklahoma's historic all-black towns, this is the latest in a series of mini-documentaries focusing on some of the remaining towns. It's about Lima, Oklahoma, and the town's struggle and hope to save its old historic Rosenwald school. Rosenwald schools were set up across the South in the United States in the early 20th century, and helped educate tens of thousands of African-American schoolchildren. As elsewhere, the school presented in this video played an integral part in local history.
