Earth Day, 40 Years And Greening?
Has anything changed? Everyone always seems to talk about the next generation, but that's been the case for the last 40 years. The impromptu feeling is gone, a hyper-organized, yet diverse and grassroots, internet driven movement is alive. Companies are getting involved. The environmentalists still have a hard time convincing the policymakers. This Sunday's climate rally in Washington will coalesce with the anti-World Bank IMF meeting commotion.

You are right. What was promised 40 years back is the same thing they mentioned every earth day. The question is, are they really doing something for our mother earth? Because it seems to me that they prioritize more on modernization.
